Callan’s Birth Story {West Penn Pittsburgh Birth Photography}

This was a marathon birth if I’ve ever seen one! Poor mama was trying for natural but was only dilating a cm every 2 hours or so, and finally decided what was best for everyone was some peaceful rest. And rest we got! After three sessions of pushing it was decided that posterior Callan was just not going to make it vaginally. Everyone was in good spirits heading into the OR and I got the go ahead to join them in for the c-section! It was an amazing time, and at the end they got their perfectly healthy boy! Dad got to spend some time in the OR talking to his new son, already telling him about life; and in recovery mom was awake and had no lingering side effects from the c-section that she was able to straight away start nursing her new love. Even though it was an all-nighter, I loved every minute of being able to witness the process of Callan’s birth; all births are beautiful and NO birth is the same. Just look for yourself!
